Hay fever (allergic rhinitis) is an allergic reaction to pollen causing sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes, typically worse in spring and summer, though some people react to mould or dust year-round.
Treatment usually starts with antihistamines and a steroid nasal spray, used correctly and consistently — a large part of why symptoms don't improve is often technique or timing rather than the medication itself.
